This year, we received a record 54 entries for the LGFA Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards®. This year, to recognise these amazing entries, and to celebrate 10 years of Excellence Awards, we’re doing something special. We want you, our members, to vote for your favourite entry.
Over the course of the next five weeks, we’ll be asking you to vote for your favourite entry in each category.
In the final week, we’ll ask you to vote for your favourite of the seven category finalists. The entry with the most votes will receive the Members’ Choice Award at our Gala Dinner in Wellington on 13 June 2024.
The Excellence Awards are for programmes, projects, and approaches that demonstrate professional excellence in local government management. When making your selection, you might want to consider the entry that is the most innovative, that demonstrates community impact, or that can be replicated by other councils.

The DIA Award for Excellence in Community Engagement recognises projects that demonstrate excellence community engagement, empowerment, or partnerships.

The Datacom Award for Excellence in Digital Government is for projects that have achieved successful results from the application of digital or technological solutions.

The BERL Award for Excellence in Collaborating for Results recognises projects that demonstrate collaboration with other agencies.

The Buddle Findlay Award for Excellence Māori-Council Partnerships (Te Tohu Waka Hourua) is for projects that demonstrate commitment to partnering with Māori, and the results achieved from that.
