Overview

This workshop is about Less Stress – More Success procurement. It is part of a total procurement approach that Taituarā’s partner, The Integral Group Ltd, are doing with councils to improve local authority procurement.

Your role as a procurer is to know what you need and how to attract and choose the best suppliers.

This workshop introduces key philosophies and methodologies for better procurement. It will:

- Create an understanding of why good procurement is important

- Highlight where the public sector is poor at procurement and how to avoid that

- Point out the dangers of poor procurement

- Introduce the Right Track workshop

- Show what it is like to be a supplier and how to attract the best suppliers

- Introduce students to the terminology of procurement

- Teach a fast and effective methodology.

The workshop will work through two or three real projects (volunteered from the attendees – so they get their projects worked on by the trainer and the group) to embed the learnings.
