This online forum, delivered over four modules, will explore how we managed during COVID-19, how to manage risk in LGOIMA, legislation changes for central and local government and an interview with one of our new young councillors.

Governance Professionals Forum 2020: Governance in a Changing World.
This online forum will explore how Governance Professionals have managed “Governance in a changing world” whilst operating in a COVID-19 environment.
Our expert panelists will consider the challenges and opportunities faced during the pandemic and how the councils' governance managed their way through a state of emergency.
The digital forum will also look at aspects of legislation and the impact on governance, topical aspects of LGOIMA such as how to prepare for an Ombudsman's investigation and when to go "public excluded", how to raise the quality of committee advisor advice and an interview with one of our new young councillors, Toi Iti from BOPRC. We are now focusing on recovery and the role local government and the governance teams in particular can play in supporting the development of a sustainable, inclusive and resilient plans for the future.
A virtual forum of recorded and live sessions between 27 July to 14 August 2020 for:
- governance or democracy services managers and staff
- executive secretaries and assistants with responsibility for committee support
- those responsible for LGOIMA requests
- those responsible for storage and retrieval of information
This event is open to local government employees, and employees of council controlled organisations.
The cost for this event is $450+GST per council.
The link for session one will be sent out to all registered participants to share within their council on Friday 24th July.
