This year, SOLGM has introduced an award that recognises that excellent projects need excellent and innovative leaders. The Brookfields Emerging Leader of the Year Award is looking for nominations from people aged 35 and under with a proven track record of designing or delivering programmes, projects, processes or practices that demonstrate innovative and successful approaches with an identifiable community impact. This Health and Safety Training roadshow, presented in partnership by SOLGM and LGNZ in conjunction with Simpson Grierson is designed to provide a forum to discuss key issues facing councils regarding the new Health and Safety at Work Act, coming into force on 4 April next year, through facilitated workshops and presentations by experts in the field.
