A final reminder that our Summit Early Bird registration finishes this Friday, 9 October. The '5+1 free' registration offer also closes the same day. Summit Dinner: The Future is Now
Our Summit Dinner celebrates 2015 as the year of the Future. Dress up and travel back in time to the 1880’s wild west, 1950’s Americana, 1980’s suburbia or a lurex and hover board vision of 2015. Manfeild Park, famous for its motor racing, is the venue so of course we’ll have a DeLorean. Bus transportation will be provided.

Under discussion: Walking the Tightrope - Providing apolitical public leadership in a political environment
The overlap of governance and management roles often results in problematic grey areas for many organisations. In local government this overlap is exacerbated by having to operate in a localised political environment. This year our panel discussion will explore this topic and what leadership role council Chief Executives and senior management should have in their communities.
Facilitated by broadcaster Kim Hill (also our Summit MC) with panellists Lawrence Yule, Mayor of Hastings District Council and President of LGNZ and Pat Martel, President of ICMA (one other panellist to be confirmed).

SOLGM office closed Friday 9 and Monday 12 October
A reminder that we're currently doing some alterations to our office in Wellington. That will mean that on Friday 9th and Monday 12th of October we need to vacate our office and we will have no access to our server and emails on the Friday and limited access on the Monday. If you have an urgent query on those days please call 04 978 1280. This won't affect our Electoral Officers Training on 12 and 13 October (it's not too late to register).
