Future Workforce Forum – 13 June & 14 June – Wellington 

Building Great Communities Through Employing Great People

This is the event of the year for those in the HR, OD and LD council colleagues. Explore the big people issues, get inspired and get the access, leading, thinking and tools to help with the coming year.

With some big legislative changes, a tight labour market, ongoing discussions about pay and equity, a focus on how councils can compete for talent, and a rapidly changing learning environment there is plenty to keep up with.

Featuring a fantastic line up of speakers, here’s just a snippet of what’s to come:

  • Front footing people and resourcing pressures – gender pay, living wage, flexibility and competitiveness - presented by Ryan Ghisi, GM Global People Programmes, Xero.
  • Break out sessions on What’s Next in Attracting a Younger Workforce by Lauren Foster Deloitte Human Capital Consulting.

Richard Kirby
Engineering Services Manager – Tasman District Council

Richard Kirby is Engineering Services Manager with the Tasman District Council. Responsible for the infrastructure services provided by Council including roading, water supplies, wastewater schemes, stormwater drainage, coastal structures and river management. His management, consulting and engineering career within Local Government spans over 35 years.

Richard Kirby will talk about the recent Storm surges, Floods, Fires and Droughts in the Tasman Region. How we responded to each of these events, the increasing frequency of these events and the longer term impacts on communities and individual property owners. How as a Council we need to highlight the ongoing risks of such events and help the community become more resilient to them.
