What is LGAccelerated Leadership?

LGAccelerated Leadership is the development programme for those in local government wanting to excel in their leadership role. It is part of SOLGM's LGLeadershipPathways

This programme, developed in association with the Capability Group and Skills and is for those in a people leadership role in local government including those leading project teams. On completion participants are eligible for the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management). It is highly interactive, practical, and designed to allow participants to discuss and debate the qualities and behaviours of great leaders, including how to be an authentic leader, make a difference in their role, and deliver results for their councils.

The programme has five face-to-face workshops, delivered over a five month period. There is a gap between each workshop where participants are able to implement some of the key learnings in their workplace with the support of their line manager. Participants form groups to meet up between the workshops to reflect on their own personal journey and discuss what it takes to be a great leader.
