Is your council doing exceptional work or an innovative project?

Applications are now open for the 2019 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards® with six Award categories celebrating the very best in professional excellence in local government management.

Last year Waikato Regional Council took out The Capability Group Award for Innovation in Organisation and People Development and the 2018 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards® Supreme Award for Kawe Kōrero, a te reo and tikanga Māori app designed to support confident staff engagement with Māori.

Judges described the app as a stand-out entry and fundamental to local government.

If you have a project that involves organisation redesign, human resource management and capability development, you might want to consider submitting an entry for our Innovation in Organisation and People Development category.

Peter’s session is a nice lead in to a series of five case studies from local authorities collaborating with other local authorities, with central government and with the community to achieve great outcomes.
