With only 5 weeks to go, it is time to get your registration in for the 2018 SOLGM Annual Summit in Queenstown.

As local government professionals, understanding the diversity of our communities is essential. But how do we get to know our communities, and how do we address the diverse needs of varied cultures and groups? How can we use data to understand the dynamics of our communities? And what is the impact of technology on the way we engage?

The Summit will provide you with ideas, approaches and new strategies to better understand and serve your communities, including ways to harness community enthusiasm and capability to achieve objectives and maintain value for your ratepayers.

You can register on our website. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Summit this year is all about diversity, understanding our communities, and how to best serve them.

We want to know what's going on in your community. Who are your people? What do they do? How do they celebrate life? What makes your community interesting and vibrant?

Please send in your images or video footage and we will showcase them on the big screen at Summit. These could be photos from street parades, community events, ceremonies, or from news footage. They could be of people; workers, families, individuals, young and old. These are just some of the ideas.

Please send your images and footage to info@solgm.org.nz by Friday 17 August.
