We're really excited about the presenter line up for this year's Professional Administrators Forum (previously called the EA & PA Forum) on in Auckland on 11 & 12 May. Nadia Lim is our keynote speaker and she has a fascinating story to tell about her journey from dietitian to Master Chef New Zealand winner to best-selling author, co-founder of My Food Bag and ambassador for the Cambodia Charitable Trust.

Also on the presenter list is New Zealand Herald Wellbeing columnist, Louise Thompson talking about strategies to improve energy levels and be more productive without working longer, Robyn Bennett from Team Link Training leading a session on effective minute taking and Patricia Reade, Transformation Director on Auckland Council's executive team providing her thoughts on creating a great partnership with your manager. Being from the sector Patricia's presentation will have a strong local government focus.

A reminder that the annual live update of this Series starts tomorrow with the webinar for the first module in the Series - 'An Introduction to Local Government'. The Series provides a great introduction for staff new to the sector to learn the basics about what makes local government different from other sectors. Information on how to sign up for a council subscriptions to this Series, which provides access to all staff at your council for the period of the subscription, can be found here.

Don't miss this special evening of celebration where we'll announce the winning projects in the 2017 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards, the winning team in the New Zealand leg of the Australasian Management Challenge, the winner of the Brookfields Emerging Leader of the Year Award and the recipients of our Leadership Scholarships and Overseas Manager Exchanges. The dinner is being held at the Langham in Auckland on 12 April.

12 April, as well as being the date for our Gala Dinner, is also the date we're holding our annual Chief Executives Forum and an Executive Leaders Masterclass. The latter is for Local Government Executives and is a hands on event for those looking for tips on making their next career move. Both the CE Forum and the Masterclass are being held at the Langham so delegates can go on to meet up with all their colleagues from around the country at The Marketplace and then the Gala Dinner.

The Marketplace is an exhibition space SOLGM provides to councils that have entered a project in our Excellence Awards. There's no need to register - just come along to the Langham any time from midday on the 12th of April through to the start of the Gala Dinner that evening to see what innovative projects are happening in councils around the country.
