The response to the #redandblackcouncilchallenge has been amazing. We estimate that at least half of all New Zealand councils (and one Australian council) have or are going to do the challenge - one council's challenge efforts even made their local paper.

We've done a montage of some of the challenge photos coming in from councils round the country in our Facebook page and in the header image for this newsletter. We know that affected councils appreciate all the support. Please keep the photos coming.

We're aware that this is one of the few Forums we run annually that has quite a bit of competition from private providers so, while it's not on till 12 & 13 May we are keen to spread the word - after all it is not only specifically tailored for local government staff, it is the only forum where those in these roles have the opportunity to network with and learn from others in the sector.

We have great speakers such as productivity guru, Debbie Mayo-Smith and My Food Bag founder, Nadia Lim presenting. The full programme is available here. Registrations for this two day event are priced at only $835+ GST (for members) or $955+GST (non-members).

Postponed from last week this free webinar is for those wanting to enter our 2017 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards or our Brookfields Emerging Leader of the Year Award. Register for the webinar here.

This two day event is on in Wellington on 1 & 2 February, which is a busy time for the city. If you're planning on attending we'd strongly recommend that you register early - numbers are limited to 20 - and book your accommodation as soon as possible. More information and the full programme can be found in our website here.
