The Award will be presented to an emerging leader, aged 35 or under, who has a proven track record of designing or delivering innovative and successful programmes, projects, processes or practices with an identifiable community impact.

With entries are now open for the Emerging Leader Award, as well as the 2017 McGredy Winder SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards, this webinar will provide some important pointers on what both Excellence Award judges and Emerging Leader Award judges will be looking for. We’ll also provide Excellence Award entrants further information on The Marketplace – an exhibition space provided free of cost so that the entering councils can showcase their projects prior to our Gala Dinner in April. You can register for this webinar here.

Other upcoming SOLGM events can be found in our Event Calendar here. Our Road to 2018 LTP Roadshow starts next week. We'll be in Queenstown on the 1st of November and Christchurch on the 3rd. And those involved with the recent local body elections shouldn't miss the Election Debrief on 2 December in Wellington.

Reminder to our Members: Members registering for our events will already be in our system so won't need to create a new user account. A new log-in means our system won't recognise that membership and won't apply the member discount. You can email info@solgm.org.nz or phone 04 978 1280 if need more information.

A reminder that the next issue of Pulse will be out in early November - look out for articles on our recent Summit plus the range of activities we have underway as we head into 2017.

Summit delegates will know that one of the stand-outs was keynote speaker Harold Hillman - if you missed him or want to hear more from him check out this recent posting in SOLGM's Facebook page.
