Ahead of all our upcoming 2018 Long-Term Plan events we've just published substantial updates to the following Guides:

> Jigsaw 2018: Piecing it Together - This is a quick reference guide to the entire range of processes and content requirements that make up a successful LTP.

> Dollars and Sense 2018: Financial and Infrastructure Considerations for the LTP - this guide covers financial and infrastructure strategies, financial prudence and the financial information that goes into the long-term plan.

> Telling our Stories 2018: Guide on LTP Consultation Documents - this guide provides tips and tricks for writing an effective consultation document including useful examples.

These three updated guides join the 'Your Side of the Deal 2018: Performance Management & the LTP' guide released at our Summit in September. We've produced Summaries for the Time Challenged for these new guides with the exception of the already concise Consultation Document guide.

All local government staff can access these guides in our SectorGoodToolkit. While in the site check out the other resources including our Legal Compliance Modules covering everything from Animal Control to Procurement. For council staff who don't have or have forgotten their login details please email info@solgm.org.nz.

The Toolkit's resources are funded by our annual Sector Good subscriptions and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank all 78 councils for their continued support of this work.

Don't miss tomorrow's LTP Introductory Webinar series - LTP 101. For those planning on attending one of our LTP Seminars and new to the process this two part series is a must-attend. It's priced per council but we encourage individuals to register so that they receive directly both the link to the live webinars and to the resulting recordings (councils will only receive one invoice each no matter how many individuals register). The webinars are on 18 and 26 October starting at 10am.

A reminder that The Road to 2018: LTP Seminars are in Queenstown on 1 November, Christchurch on 3 November, Palmerston North on 16 November and Auckland on 17 November. Presenters are Sarah Lineman, Assistant Auditor-General, Local Government (Acting) from the Office of the Auditor-General, Stephen Halliwell, Principal of Working Smarter and Raymond Horan and Shivani Makwana from SOLGM's own Sector Improvement Team.
