At this week's annual SOLGM Summit (starting tomorrow in Auckland) we'll be releasing the first of our updated Long-Term Planning guides "Your Side of the Deal 2018: Performance Management and the LTP". This guide is just one of a suite of LTP guides SOLGM provides those who manage or contribute to the development of the LTP. Our other guides in the suite are currently going through a major review and are due to be released during October. They, along with our other Sector Good guides and legal compliance modules, can be found in the LGSectorGoodToolkit (email info@SOLGM.co.nz if you need login details).

For those coming to our Summit and unfamiliar with the multitude of resources available to all council staff in the Toolkit we have a booth dedicated to showing delegates around the site - come and visit Owen and Lis in the Networking Zone.

As well as updating the LTP guides we're running the following LTP events:

This two part introductory webinar series covers a range of content and processes that go into an effective and compliant long-term plan. It is suitable for:

> new LTP managers or project team members that want to understand what it’s all about or

> those contributing small parts to the content (such as an activity plan) and want to know how their part fits with the rest.

We have priced the webinar series at $450 (+GST) per council so it's accessible to a wide range of staff. We strongly recommend that new practitioners planning on attending one of our LTP Seminars (see below) view this series. Find out more and register here.

These seminars are a must-attend for anyone who manages or contributes to the development of LTPs and are complementary to our webinar series. They'll provide more in-depth information and are suitable for both experienced practitioners and those new to the process (and who have attended our webinar series). Key points from our reviewed suite of long-term plan guides will be covered and sessions include financial management and strategies, infrastructure strategies, consultation documents, the audit process and bringing the LTP together.

Registrations for the Seminars are $480 +GST for members and $560 +GST for non-members.

We will be in four locations in November:

> 1 November in Queenstown

> 3 November in Christchurch

> 16 November in Palmerston North

> 17 November in Auckland
