The Environment Select Committees report on the Resource Management Amendment Bill made several very significant changes.
The Committee has recommended significant amendments to the freshwater management process, and has inserted general obligations on councils to consider climate change when making and amending plans and policies under the RMA, and making decisions under the RMA. We expect this is one of the pieces of legislation that the Government will prioritise between now and the election.
