The Wellington City Council are proud to be hosting the 2007 New Zealand Society of Local Government Managers Conference 2007.

The theme of the conference is Local Government 2020

 

 

Join us and leap into the future with:

John Ralston Saul, an award-winning Essayist and Novelist.  In his book, The Collapse of Globalismand the Reinvention of the World, he confronts the reigning econmic ideology known as globalization.

Richard Neville, a practicing futurist who will provide a range of possible scenarios and trends that will help us prepare for the future.

Jim Renwick, a member of the International Panel for Climate Change who will work through the tough issues of this subject.

We will address other major challenges which local government faces, including future proofing our infrastructure for a changing population, internationalising our cities and creating effective partnerships to deliver on community needs.
