Brand, Logos and Style Guide

The SOLGM Electoral Working Party has put together a set of brand guidelines for local authorities and other organisations involved in promoting and developing messages related to the 2010 Local Elections. The purpose of the logo is to create a consistent call to action for the Local Government Elections.

Your Vote Your Community

The message was developed to encourage engagement from a wider audience of people throughout communities. To make everyday members of our community feel like they are stakeholders in the council and have a say in the role the council plays in their everyday lives.

Style Guide

The Style Guide is developed to ensure consistent use of logos, brand graphics and brand colours for any 2010 Local Government Election materials produced by local authorities and relevant organisations. The Style Guide contains information that will assist you in the proper use of the logo.  The logo is rendered in many formats and any one of them can be used as long as the logo colour is not altered or the size/shape is not distorted.

Logos

The logo must always be reproduced using high resolution electronic files. The file formats available include jpeg, Vector EPS and Vector AI. The logo is rendered in a variety of formats and any of these can be used depending on the situation or whichever would best complement your organisation's branding.  Please ensure that the colour is not altered or the shape/size of the logo is not distorted.  A minimum size has been set for the logo to ensure legibility.  The logo should not appear any smaller than 45mm in width.

Brand Graphics

The 'exclamation mark' graphic is provided to support the logo where needed.

The use of the mark reiterates the Your vote your community message and it demands attention. The silhouettes represent people, facilities, recreation and infrastructure in our communities influenced by local government. By showing a broad range of age groups and activities, it is hoped it will encourage a more diverse range of people to get involved and vote.

The exclamation mark can be used in the brand orange, black and white.

Which file should you use?

• JPG files are files that can be used for any type of applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and HTML.
• EPS File and AI Files can be used (and opened) using a design software such as InDesign, Photoshop etc. These are the high resolution files that your printer and designer would need to use.
