Election Cost Allocation Template

The SOLGM Electoral Working Party produced a range of resources to assist local authorities in their cost allocation.

The template is in a spreadsheet that Electoral Officers can use to apportion the costs of your election. It provides a framework that you can modify for your own election. Hopefully, you can use the derived spreadsheets with no changes. The only modifications that might be needed would be to add new rows and columns into the tables if your election is more complex than already provided for.

There are three files in this product which consists of the following.  These documents are updated as at 11 August 2010:

Remember: before using the product, you should move the three components from the Zip archive into a Windows folder.

The template is distributed as a spreadsheet template file (with type = .XLT). To create a spreadsheet from the template, simple double-click the XLT file and save the derived Excel workbook (spreadsheet) using a suitable filename of your choice. You then work only with the derived spreadsheets. Use the template to create as many working Excel workbooks as you need for your own election(s).

This template was developed using Excel 2003. Some of the instructions contained below for modifying the spreadsheet layout may be different when using earlier versions of Excel.
