The SOLGM Electoral Working Party has developed a range of resources to assist and guide Electoral Officers in local authorities as they manage the local elections. The SOLGM Electoral Working Party is concerned with the organisation and conduct of local elections. Its membership includes representatives of Local Government New Zealand, the Ministry of Health, the Department of Internal Affairs and local authority electoral officers.
The Code of Good Practice for the Management of Local Authority Elections and Polls, is a key resource for electoral officers running election processes. The Code of Good Practice has been thoroughly reviewed and upgraded.

The SOLGM Electoral Working Party has put together a set of brand guidelines for local authorities and other organisations involved in promoting and developing messages related to the 2010 Local Elections.
