The Financial Management Working Party (FMWP) is a major forum for discussion between central and local government officials on financial management and planning matters, accounting issues and rating. The primary focus of the FMWP is the promotion of good practice in financial management and strategic planning in local authorities.
LINZ is currently consulting on a strategic review of the rating valuations industry.
The purpose of the review is to identify trends and issues which may affect the rating valuations industry over the next ten years.
SOLGM has prepared a discussion paper (PDF, 236KB) to help local authorities with their responses and seek views for incorporation into the SOLGM response.
Comments on SOLGM's paper are open until 5.00pm 15 November 2011.

The SOLGM Financial Management Working Party holds two major events in the year: Financial Management Seminar (usually held in April) and the Local Government Rating Seminars (usually held in October).
