Work of SOLGM Electoral Working Party cited in report

The Justice and Electoral Committee have commended the work of the SOLGM Electoral Party on the Code of Good Practice for the Management of Local Authority Elections.

The Justice and Electoral Committee presented its report on the inquiry into the 2007 elections. The report stated ‘we are pleased to note that the Society of Local Government Managers has carried out work on good practice in response to the recommendation in the report on the inquiry into the 2004 elections’.

The code was revised and augmented by the SOLGM Electoral Party in time for the 2007 elections.

The SOLGM Electoral Party is now actively planning on how to assist the sector prepare for the 2010 elections.
