Small local authority wins Supreme Award
Thames-Coromandel District Council wins the Supreme Award of the sector’s local government excellence awards at the NZ Society of Local Government Managers (SOLGM) Conference in Paihia in September.
The judges noted that the Council's Masterplan Consent Tracking Project clearly shows innovation and excellence. The judges were also impressed with the leadership capabilities this small authority has shown.

The 2008 New Zealand Post Group Local Government Excellence Awards is the only one that recognises local government management best practice and innovation. SOLGM and New Zealand Post Group are thrilled with the response and the quality of entries received from various local authorities in New Zealand.
