MWH International Conference Attendance Awards

SOLGM members get to apply for travel grants to two international conferences: ICMA Annual Conference (USA) and the LGMA National Congress (Australia).  Attending these international conferences is a great opportunity to learn from overseas experiences, draw ideas from best practice examples and to build networks overseas. 

MWH is the proud sponsor of International Conference Attendance Awards. 

Call for 2011 Applications Now Open

The call for applications for the MWH International Conference Attendance Awards to the 2011 LGMA National Congress on 22-25 May in Cairns is now open.

The Award is open to any SOLGM Full Members who have not attended an LGMA National Congress in the past.  Please forward your application by Friday, 1 April 2011.

LGMA National Congress

The LGMA National Congress is usually held in May and applications for the Conference Attendance Awards are called for in February.  SOLGM full members who have not attended an LGMA National Congress in the past are eligible for this Conference Attendance Awards. 

Each year, two SOLGM Full Members are awarded with a grant of $ 1,050 (plus GST) each to be used towards travel and accommodation costs in attending the LGMA National Congress.

Recipients will be responsible for the remainder of the costs such as conference registration.  They are also also asked to write a short article about their experience at the conference to be published by SOLGM and MWH.

ICMA Conference Attendance Awards

The ICMA Annual Conference is usually held in September and applications for the ICMA Conference Attendance Awards are called for in June.  SOLGM full members who have not attended an ICMA National Congress in the past are eligible for this Conference Attendance Awards. 

Each year, three SOLGM Full Members are awarded with a travel grant of $ 3,000 (plus GST) to attend the ICMA Conference.

Recipients will be responsible for the remainder of the costs such as accommodation and conference registration. They are also asked to write a short article and report about their experience at the conferences to be published by SOLGM and MWH
