LGNZ and SOLGM Release Discussion Document

Local Government New Zealand and SOLGM have released a discussion document  covering the key issues that are raised in Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Bill (the Bill).

This document serves as the basis for consultation with the sector in advance of preparation of a Local Government New Zealand and SOLGM submission or submissions.  In particular, the document provides a basis for discussion at the upcoming Better Local Government  Summits. 

As a discussion document, the proposals and views therein are not, and may never be, SOLGM or Local Government New Zealand.

SOLGM and Local Government New Zealand welcome comment on the discussion questions contained in the document, and on any other issues relevant to the Bill.

Comments will close at 4.30pm on Friday 13 July.  As submissions on the Bill itself are due on 26 July, late comments on this document cannot be accepted.
