About this event

Our annual Chief Executives Forum and Masterclass will focus on the key issues for those with the responsibility of leading the management of Local Government. This event also provides an outstanding opportunity to network with other Chief Executives from around the country.

This year’s Forum will see the new Minister for Local Government, Hon Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga spend time with delegates in an informal Q&A session, so this is an opportunity to ask him those burning questions.

On day two you can expect to hear from Simpson Grierson about the innovative approach being used for the Christchurch District Plan review. PwC Sydney’s office will also provide a brief overview of the results of the 2015 Local Government Operational and Management Effectiveness Self-Assessment Programme, highlighting similarities and differences between us and NSW councils.

Forum delegates will be able to visit The Marketplace where projects entered into the 2016 McGredy Winder Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards® will be showcased prior to the announcement of the winners at our Gala Dinner that night. The Marketplace will be open from midday on the 14th until the start of the Gala Dinner at 6:30 pm.

Please note that the venue for the Masterclass is Simpson Grierson’s office, HSBC Tower, 195 Lambton Quay, Wellington.
Please note only Chief Executives or Acting Chief Executives can attend this forum.

For the small number of Chief Executives that are not Taituarā members now is a good time to apply. Almost 100% of the pro-rated membership fees - we are now part way through our financial year - will be immediately recouped through the Forum's registration fee member discount. Information on applying for membership can be found here.
