Dear :Person_firstname:

Pulse Magazine out

In the June issue of our Pulse magazine you'll find articles on:

  • President Barbara McKerrow talking about SOLGM's strategic direction
  • Our Chief Executive, Karen Thomas reporting on the LGMA Congress held earlier this year in Darwin
  • Four of the winners from our Gala Dinner provide the stories behind their success
  • SOLGM's Value Proposition - a reminder of the wide range of services we provide to the sector, many of them freely available to all local government staff, not just our members.

2015 SOLGM Annual Summit

Registrations have just opened for our Annual Summit. With the theme of "Leading for Tomorrow", this year it is on in Palmerston North from 9 to 11 of November.

You can find more information in the Summit website and over the coming month we'll be sending out more information about our Keynote speakers and the exciting new programme format.

Reporting from Canada - Fiona Greenhill's Blog

Fiona, Group Manager at South Taranaki District Council and recipient of our 2014 British Columbia Overseas Manager Exchange, is currently in Canada on the second part of her Exchange (the first part of the Exchange was hosting a manager from British Columbia). Fiona is sending in regular reports of her experiences and you can find them in the LGCareers website. SOLGM offers these Exchanges every year - the 2015 Exchanges were announced at our Gala Dinner. We'll send out information when applications open for 2016.

LGCareers Initiatives

We've had a great response to our recent request for information on career initiatives in councils that we can promote on our LGCareers website. Please keep them coming - email Owen.winter@SOLGM.org.nz.
