We are delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the 2015 SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards®.

The Awards celebrate the very best in professional excellence in local government management and are open to Local Authorities and Council Controlled Organisations in New Zealand. 

In 2015 the five categories are:

• Building Organisational Capability
• Joined Up Local Government
• Council-Community Relationship
• Transforming Service Delivery
• Environmental Leadership and Sustainability

Nominations close on 4 March 2015 and the winners will be announced at the inaugural SOLGM Gala Dinner being held in Wellington on 16 April.

The SOLGM Gala Dinner - 16 April 2015

The Gala Dinner celebrates the outstanding contribution of local government professionals to the success of the sector so, as well as the winners of the 2015 SOLGM Local Government Excellence Awards®, the following announcements will also be made:

• The recipients of our Overseas Manager Exchanges
• Our Leadership Scholarships supported by sponsors The Skills Organisation, LDC and Opus
• The NZ winners of the LGMA Management Challenge sponsored by Civica

LGMA Management Challenge

The Gala Dinner will also see the announcement of the winners of the New Zealand leg of the Challenge which is being held in Upper Hutt on the 30 and 31 of March. 

Please note that registrations are due to close early February so we'd recommend you register your team as soon as possible to what is considered Australasia’s premier forum for current and emerging local government leaders.
