Entries are now open for the 2017 McGredy Winder Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards and nominations are open for the 2017 Brookfields Emerging Leader of the Year Award.
Both awards are hotly contested – there were 31 entries across the five categories, including 13 in a single category, for the 2016 Excellence Awards. As well there were 12 nominations for the Emerging Leader Award – the first time this was offered. With the addition in 2017 of travel to the ICMA conference in Texas for the Emerging Leader Award winner we expect even more nominations.
This webinar is designed to give entrants some important pointers on what judges are looking for in an excellent entry.
As well we’ll provide Excellence Award entrants further information on The Marketplace – an exhibition space provided free of cost so that they can showcase their projects to other councils, central government representatives and our Gala Dinner guests.

Raymond re-joined Taituarā in June 2014 as Sector Improvement Manager, before commencing his current role as Chief Advisor at Taituarā. He has spent most of the last 20 years in local government related roles, most recently with the Department of Internal Affairs.
He describes his job as two-thirds providing assistance to the local government sector and one-third providing advice to central government on local government matters. His ambition is to help develop a Local Government Act that doesn’t require changes every 18 months. He asks that you wish him well with this task.

Prior to joining Taituarā in March 2014 Jeanette held senior communication, marketing and client services roles, primarily in the financial services sector and most recently on contract with Foodstuffs (Wellington) Cooperative and listed property company, NPT Limited. She has developed and implemented integrated strategic and tactical business, communications and marketing plans and brings to Taituarā experience in stakeholder engagement, acquisition and retention, brand development and management and e-marketing, particularly website development. Jeanette holds a BBS from Massey University.
