Taituarā is working with various government agencies on the review of NZQA framework qualifications relevant to a number of parts of the local government workforce.
All national framework qualifications are currently being reviewed and redesigned to align with a revised qualifications framework. These reviews are being driven by NZQA and are occurring in a number of tranches. The intended outcomes of these reviews is not simply to confirm and roll over existing qualifications, but to reframe them along more generic lines to operate in a refocused and streamlined national framework.
Compliance Qualifications
We are currently involved in the review of a group of qualifications referred to as the Justice and Law Reform which includes the old LGITO liquor, animal control, and parking qualifications, as well as the more recently developed general compliance qualifications developed by the Common Compliance Capability project in association with Learning State.
This review is scheduled to run through until April 2013.

Other Qualifications
The existing qualifications for rating and committee support staff are expected to be reviewed as part of a later tranche of reviews.
In addition we are conscious that in addition there are a number of other qualifications relevant to other groups of local authority staff that fall within the ambit of other ITOs, and we are aware that some local authority managers and staff may have become involved in reviews being managed by a variety of other ITOs.
