SOLGM Annual Summit 2013

The SOLGM Annual Summit and Industry Networking is the annual gathering of local government professionals and decision makers, industry partners who deliver services to local government and central government officials who work closely with the sector.  This is the refreshed version of our previously successful SOLGM Annual Conference.

The SOLGM Annual Summit is a practical, accessible, and inclusive learning and networking opportunity for all of those who work in and with the local government sector. 

Managing the Gap

The theme of the SOLGM Annual Summit is Managing the Gap.

It is time of change for local government - a theme that seems to be recurring every year.  But this year, it is probably more complex than ever.  Local government professionals have more questions than answers.  Most likely many are still grappling with the changes of the new legislation, along with other things such as preparing for the upcoming elections, finding ways to address workforce issues and delivering services for less.

The programme will focus on:

  • Enhancing management capability and leadership
  • Understanding workforce issues and emerging trends
  • Identifying future scenarios for local government
  • Sharing knowledge
  • Creating professional networks
