Financial Management in Local Government

SOLGM has prepared a memo “IPSAS vs IFRS: Much Ado About Very Little” which summarises the key difference between the two sets of standards.  The most significant difference is that IPSAS contains a requirement to report income and expenditure information and asset and liability information by operating segment.

The SOLGM Financial Management Working Party has developed a set of guides to enhance the day to day financial management in local authorities.

The SOLGM Financial Management Working Party (FMWP) has commissioned BERL to produce reports that will assist local authorities in their planning.
